The Violence Intervention Program provides assessments for students who have been suspended because of a violent threat or act. The assessment looks at multiple domains of the student's life, protective and risk factors, as well as the referring incident. A written report is provided to the school and the family which includes recommendations for treatment. The program also provides short-term weekly counseling sessions for students identified as needing immediate support.
The Violence Intervention Program is a CCPS Initiative and not part of CCYSB's continuum of services, therefore, referrals to this program are accepted from CCPS only.
