We are thrilled to host Dr. Scott Swartzwelder, co-author of ‘Buzzed: The Straight Facts About the Most Used and Abused Drugs from Alcohol to Ecstasy’ (6th Edition), for two special events focused on youth development, mental health, and substance use.

Professionals Session: “Higher Potency, Higher Stakes: Updated Neuroscience for Clinical Practice”

• Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Target Audience: Clinical Professionals & Parents
• Continuing Education: Earn 2.0 Category 1 CEU Credits for FREE!
• Key Topics: Learn to contrast the neurobiological and developmental impacts of substance use — including the adolescent alcohol “Lock-In Effect” — and apply evidence-based screening and treatment for substance use co-occurring with depression or anxiety in youth.

“Fireside” Chat: “What the Teenage Brain Wants You to Know”

• Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM (Community Resource Tables open 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
• Details: A moderated conversation with Dr. Scott Swartzwelder, Dr. Matthew Levy (Carroll County Health Officer), and Liza Guroff (CEO of CCYSB).
• Interactive Format: The panel will feature questions submitted by attendees before and during the event.
• Light refreshments will be served.
