Family Preservation is a voluntary, short-term, home-based program for Carroll County residents. Teams of mental health professionals provide comprehensive services to families with children who are at imminent risk of out-of-home placement or supporting families whose children are returning from an out-of-home placement. Funding is provided through the Maryland Department of Human Resources.
Family Preservation offers a continuum of services beginning with crisis intervention and stabilization, and moving to less intensive step-down services. The ultimate goal of family preservation is to help the family develop skills and resources to regain healthy functioning and autonomy.
Families may self-refer or be referred from the Core Service Agency, Department of Social Services, Department of Juvenile Services, or Carroll County Public Schools. For information on how to make a referral, or to receive a referral form, please contact our Program Director of Family Preservation, Mallory Sutphin at 443-244-8642 or e-mail her at msutphin@ccysb.org.
