The Threats of Violence Assessment Program offers prevention and intervention services to students in Carroll County Schools who have made a threat to commit an act of violence. The School policy states that any student who threatens an act of violence is subject to suspension and referred for a violence assessment at CCYSB. The assessment interview evaluates a student’s potential for violence, and provides a written plan outlining recommendations for school, mental health treatment, and family life. Referrals are accepted exclusively from the pupil services director of Carroll County Schools. For more information about the program, contact Joan Nelson at 410-848-2500 x121 or 410-876-2500 x121 or e-mail joann@ccysb.org.
