CCYSB provides an emergency assessment service for children who pose a risk for suicide or self injury. Referrals are accepted exclusively from Carroll County Public Schools during school hours, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Guidance counselors, administrators, or teachers may access through the Pupil Services Department. A Master’s level therapist is available to provide telephone consultation to the school and/or to schedule an interview with the child and parent/guardian. On-call therapists provide families with a written contract with recommendations and safety plan. If hospitalization is indicated, a coordinated plan for possible admission to Carroll Hospital Center is provided. Suicide and Self Injury assessments are offered only to students with an accompanying adult. For more information about this program, contact Clinical Director, Gary Honeman at 410-848-2500 x124 or 410-876-2500 x124 or e-mail ghoneman@ccysb.org.
