PRIDE stands for Positive Response to Issues of Discipline with Elementary School Students. The Pride Program is an alternative elementary school program for students who have had significant difficulty succeeding in their home schools due to disruptive behavior. Formerly housed at CCYSB, the program has outgrown its single classroom and is now a part of the Carroll Springs School in Westminster. The Pride Program offers to students and their parents intensive individual and family counseling with CCYSB staff therapists. Psychiatric assessment and medication management are available as needed. Students are referred to the Pride Program through the Pupil Services Department of Carroll County Schools. Pride provides a nurturing classroom environment with a strong emphasis on encouraging student strengths and working toward daily and monthly goal attainment in order to prepare students to return to the home school or other school placement.
