Carroll County Youth Service Bureau

Family Preservation

Family Preservation is a voluntary, short-term, home-based program for Carroll County residents. Teams of mental health professionals provide comprehensive services to families with children 6 years of age and older, who are at imminent risk of out-of-home placement. Funding is provided through the Maryland Office of Children, Youth and Families.

Family Preservation offers a continuum of services beginning with crisis intervention and stabilization, and moving to less intensive step-down services. The ultimate goal of family preservation is to help the family develop skills and resources to regain healthy functioning and autonomy.

Families must be referred from the Core Service Agency, Department of Social Services, or Department of Juvenile Services. Anyone else making a referral can partner with one of these agencies. For information on how to make a referral, or to receive a referral form, please contact Nan Billingslea at 410-848-2500 x113 or 410-876-2500 x113 or e-mail nbillingslea@ccysb.org.
